We often think about how mental health struggles can impact your romantic relationships, but forget that your relationship can affect your mental health too. I want to share with men a few relationship dynamics that may be causing a negative impact.
Men’s loneliness.
Everyone seems to be experiencing increased loneliness in the last few years, there's no doubt. I am going to speak about the specific experiences of men’s loneliness here though because this seems to be unique and vast.
Why do I suffer in silence?
To suffer in silence means to be alone in your pain. It means for one reason or another you are silent about what you are feeling inside. A likely reason is the messaging we receive about emotions, which is what I want to share with you. I bet you can relate to this.
Why should men go to therapy?
Remember that therapy or counselling is a tool to support you, build skills, and manage mood or just life. I answer the questions: ‘What are men coming to therapy for?’, ‘Should I go to therapy?’, and ‘What are the benefits of therapy?’
